Tramadol 225mg Seizure at Murtala Muhammed International Airport

Cocaine is detrimental to your health

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made significant strides in combating drug trafficking in Nigeria. In a recent operation, NDLEA officers intercepted two drug mules carrying cocaine and tramadol at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos.

According to reports, the consignment, consisting of 57,420 pills of tramadol 225mg and 57 pellets of cocaine weighing 1.60kg, was intercepted in a cargo going to Gabon on Air Côte d'Ivoire on July 19, 2025. Three suspects linked to the cargo have been arrested, including a popular cargo agent, Ihekweme Osinachi Benedict, and Uzochukwu Godspower Chukwurah.

The NDLEA also reported that eleven parcels of cocaine with a total weight of 1kg were later recovered from four additional side mirrors being prepared for export, found in the home of Uzochukwu, bringing the total number of parcels of cocaine to 68 weighing 2.60 kilograms.

In another operation, NDLEA officers arrested a businesswoman, Mrs. Nwafor Roseann Nneka, at her shop in Lagos for concealing 100 grams of cocaine and 300 grams of phenacetine, a cutting agent, in ladies' lipsticks going to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.

These operations demonstrate the NDLEA's commitment to curbing drug trafficking in Nigeria. The agency has also seized millions of tramadol pills and thousands of codeine syrup bottles in various operations across the country.
